Amen wants to see his community thrive and knows that can be achieved by supporting small businesses and creating jobs where individuals are able to make a living wage, with benefits. In order to have a just economy, we should be looking to achieve sustainable growth and paying people their worth. The people of the 190th district, as well as other districts across the state, are struggling to afford the basic necessities of living. No one should ever have to decide between paying their rent or utility bill and putting food on their table for their family.
Amen believes that we should be investing in the people by raising the minimum wage and supporting workplace protections. The cost of living has gone up but not the pay for the working class. Community members should be able to attain affordable housing, own a home if they desire, and access healthcare. Amen will fight to make sure that the people are thriving.
